Compounding

Pharmaceutical compounding combines art and science to prepare customized medications for patients. Its practice dates back to the origins of pharmacy, yet the presence of compounding throughout the pharmacy profession has diminished over the years. The pharmacist’s role in preparing medications changed to that of a dispenser of manufactured drugs. Within the last two decades compounding has experienced resurgence, as modern technology and innovative techniques and research have enabled more pharmacists to customize medications to meet specific patient needs. In the simplest terms, we help physicians and patients solve medication problems such as

Awesome Features

Unique medication strengths and combinations

A medication may be available in only a few strengths.
However, a doctor may find that the best dose is not one of those. We can prepare a dose that will contain the correct strength according to the doctor. This will help to avoid adverse effects due to excessive medication but also ensure enough medication to achieve the desired result.

Unique dosage forms

Medications often are available only in tablets or capsules.
We are able to compound a medication in many different forms including oral liquids, suppositories, transdermal gels, creams, ointments, solutions, lozenges, troches, rapid dissolve tablets, popsicles, lip balms, gummy gels, lollipops, and more.

Unavailable medications

Pharmaceutical companies may stop making products that are not economically viable for them, or which there is limited demand.
We can obtain those medications in their chemical form and compound it.

Tasting

Some individuals will not take a medication because of bad taste.
This is especially a problem when it must be taken for several months or years to control a chronic health problem.
We can prepare special dosage forms in over 40 different flavors such as: banana cream, butterscotch, pina colada, cheesecake, grape, english toffee, etc.

Allergies

Commercial medications may contain preservatives, dyes, flavors, and fillers.
If a patient is allergic to any one of these ingredients, taking that medication could result in unpleasant or life-threatening reactions.
We can prepare medications that are free of materials to which a patient is known to be allergic.

Benzocaine Lidocaine Tetracaine Cream

Pre-procedure topical anesthetics like BLT cream are effective in the numbing of the epidermis prior to laser, cosmetic, and dermatological procedures. Some procedures that these anesthetics are used for include laser hair removal, dermal filler and Botox injections, and laser tattoo removal. more

Veterinary

Many pets refuse to take medications in their commercially available form.

To solve this problem we can create suspensions, capsules, animal treats, suppositories, and other forms to make the medication more appealing and acceptable to animals.

We specialize in PLO ear gels that allow medication to be absorbed through the ear skin.

Examples of Dosage forms

Capsules

We can reformulate most medications into any desired strength

Suppositories

Sometimes the oral route is not possibe due to nausea and vomiting. In such cases, we have to go up the other end. Also, suppositories have a faster onset of action. This is crucial in cases where the medication needs to work fast.

Flavored Suspensions

Flavoring options are limitless; from bubble gum to all kinds of yummy fruit flavors. For pets we even offer popular meat flavors such as Chicken, Fish or Liver

Topical Gels

Some pets are not able to be dosed orally because they can be impossible to handle.
These topical gels allow some medications to be applied onto the inner earflaps and absorbed directly into the bloodstream.
It's pretty cool stuff but it has to be used properly by massaging it into the skin.

Troches

These are good options for when the hormone creams are cumbersom to apply.
Troches are placed under the tongue to let dissolve and the medications they carry are absorbed directly into the bloodstream.

Premeasured Hormonal Creams

These click bottles allow us to deliver topical hormonal creams precisely.
They allow for adjustments of dose with just a click fo the knob.

“ Omg after alot of calling around to get a compound the intelligence and helpfulness of this place blows everybody out of the water! So many places don't even get the point of compounding, and had one place take my full information before see if they could do it! So crazy. Anyway she went to the full extent to look for something that will work and think of alternatives. Ty so much!!! ”

“ Amazing experience. No judgement whatsoever. Great customer service. I felt comfortable and felt welcomed as soon as I walked in. She is the nicest pharmacist I have come across. Most pharmacist are very rude and judgmental. So much judgement a lot of racist stares and most of all a lot of stereotypical ideas. Without even saying a word. She was nothing but nice and welcoming. Thank you for making me feel welcomed and comfortable. ”

“ Fast service and the pharmacist there was really helpful and knowledgeable. She patiently answered all of my questions. They can also do meds for pets, so if my dog needs a prescription, I'll definitely bring it here! Thank you for being so helpful! ”

“ I don't write yelp reviews very often at all, but this place is amazing. Our pup was really sick with an inflamed liver but with work, I was not able to get to the pharmacy until 430 pm, 30 mins prior to close. Typically, when compounded meds are needed, there is a couple days turn around time and I fully expected to wait a few days before I could pick up the meds. I walked in and Mary was spectacular. She compounded the meds right then and there and I was out before 5 pm. She even made it chicken flavored for my little guy. What great customer service! I was so thankful to be able to get the meds to my dog the same day I received the prescription from my vet. THANK YOU MARY!!! ”
