When a commercial product is the wrong strength, the wrong form, or not a good fit, clinicians sometimes prescribe a compounded option for pain-related therapy. We prepare those patient-specific compounds by prescription only.
How compounding can support pain-related prescriptions

How this differs from BLT cream
BLT cream (benzocaine / lidocaine / tetracaine) is typically ordered by clinics for short-term topical numbing before procedures. Pain management compounds are patient-specific therapies. Different use, different paperwork.
